Easy Coffee Creams

These delicious coffee creams are easy to make and have a fabulous coffee flavour. They’re perfect as an alternative to after-dinner mints, or to give as handmade gifts to coffee lovers.

All you need to make these sweets is icing sugar, Carnation condensed milk and coffee extract. I’ve also dipped them in dark chocolate, which adds a lovely ‘mocha’ twist.

Recipe tips and variations

  • If you can’t find coffee extract, you can use a few teaspoons of strong liquid coffee, but the flavour may not be quite so intense.
  • For flavour variations, the coffee extract can also be substituted for a different extract, eg peppermint, orange or lemon.
  • I’ve dipped the sweets in dark chocolate, but you could use milk chocolate or white chocolate if you prefer.

Storing leftovers

Store leftovers in an airtight container in a fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Serving suggestions

These sweets are the perfect alternative to after-dinner mints. They’re also lovely with a hot drink and can be gifted to coffee lovers for special occasions.

INGREDIENTS

  • 250 g (2 cups) icing sugar
  • 100 g (⅓ cups) Carnation condensed milk dairy or vegan
  • 2-3 teaspoons coffee extract
  • 50 g (¼ cups) dark chocolate, melted dairy or vegan

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Sift the icing sugar into a large bowl.
  • Add the coffee extract and the condensed milk a few tablespoons at a time, mixing well after each addition, to make a soft and smooth dough (you may not need all the condensed milk).
  • Knead the dough until it’s smooth and evenly coloured.
  • Roll the dough into balls and lightly press a form onto the top of each.
  • Place them on baking parchment and place in a cool place or in a fridge to dry. This may take 2-3 hours.
  • When the coffee creams are set, melt the chocolate.
  • Dip the creams into the melted chocolate or drizzle it over the tops.
  • Set aside for the chocolate to set.
